4 Nigerians Just Won Elections In America – Full List

Four Nigerian-Americans have won elective positions in the 2026 United States midterm elections.

The winners are Will Jawando, Junior Ezeonu, Oye Owolewa and Carol Kazeem. They won in Maryland, Texas, Washington DC and Pennsylvania.

Will Jawando won the race for Montgomery County Executive in Maryland. He defeated his Republican opponent to take one of the most powerful county positions in the state.

Oye Owolewa was re-elected in Washington DC. Junior Ezeonu won in Texas, while Carol Kazeem secured a seat in Pennsylvania.

All four candidates ran as Democrats. Their victories came as Democrats flipped control of the House and Senate in what many are calling a Blue Wave.

The results are trending in Nigeria because many Nigerians in diaspora voted and campaigned for them.

This is a major moment for Nigerians abroad. It proves Nigerian voices are growing stronger in American politics ahead of the 2028 presidential election.
