BREAKING: Former Delta Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan Dies at 71, 3 Days to 72nd Birthday

Warri, Delta – October 27, 2026: Former Governor of Delta State, Dr. Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan is dead.

His family announced his death in a statement signed by his son, Toju Uduaghan, saying he died in the early hours of Monday, October 19, 2026 at a hospital in Abuja after a brief illness.

For many Warri sons and daughters, Uduaghan was not just a governor, he was a doctor who tried to heal Delta. He was 71 years old, just 3 days to his 72nd birthday on October 22.

Uduaghan was a medical doctor before entering politics. He served as Delta Commissioner for Health from 1999 to 2003, Secretary to State Government from 2003 to 2007, and Governor of Delta State from 2007 to 2015 for two terms.
